In Vlogmas #19 I share why we shouldn't compare ourselves to fitness trainers because it can prevent us from achieving our goals. Fitfluencers are inspiring in so many ways but we should respect the fact that this is their profession and their brand.

I admire fitness influencers for sure, and they inspire me to want to feel and perform my best. I hope this video gives you some fitness motivation.

Countless hours go into training and eating a certain way to be able to perform at optimal levels. 

The main reasons why we shouldn't compare ourselves to fitfluencers is because:

  • everyone has a different body type
  • everyone burns fat differently, has a different body composition, and metabolism 
  • what you see on social media is a carefully curated image, which is different from the image you see in the mirror

Fitness trainers and fitfluencers spend years and years training and building muscle. What you see on screen for a one-hour training session is the culmination of tremendous amounts of dedication, perseverance, and sacrifice. 

For most people, learning what actually being a fitfluencer and performing at optimal levels entails, can change their mind about comparing themselves to them and trying to obtain that same aesthetic. 

Choose consistency over comparison.

Instead of comparing ourselves to fitness influencers, we should strive to be consistent with our goals. Show up for yourself, show up for your training, keep it consistent and you will see the results you're looking for.
